From Cavernous to Classy ~ A Master Suite Renovation in North Albany

November 17th, 2010 Posted in Master Bath, Remodeling Projects

After living with a black slate Master Bathroom that neither liked for ten years, a small closet fire inspired our clients to undertake a full remodel of their Master Suite. The two main goals of the project are to lighten and brighten the space without adding square footage, and to give it a contemporary look while maintaining a classic feel that will remain fresh and beautiful for decades to come.  To achieve this, we are replacing all the existing black slate {previously on the floors, shower walls, and countertops} with creamy beige & french grey materials. We removed a wing wall that once separated a seated vanity area from the sinks to create one large, open double sink vanity. And all the walls are getting lightened up to a soft white & light french grey combination.

We are about half way through the project now and are really excited with how the pieces are starting to come together. This week the tile contractors have been laying the tiles on the main bath floor and on the shower walls.  The new sink vanity cabinets were just installed and we’re looking forward to seeing them with the Caesarstone countertop arriving next week.

We’re also replacing the wallpaper in their Powder Room, and it’s turning out so gorgeous we just had to share it with you too:

Stay tuned for more in-progress photo tours of the Master Closet and the Glass mosaic details in the Master Bath, and in a few weeks we’ll get the final after images taken to share with you as well.
