Our clients’ main goals were to lighten and brighten their bathroom space and to have a contemporary yet classic look that would remain beautiful for decades to come.
Originally the floor and countertops were covered with black slate which gave the space an enclosed, or as the homeowners described it, “a cave-like” feeling. All new finishes & a slightly modified floor plan brought about a total transformation! Light-colored porcelain floor tiles (DalTile “Fabrique”) are repeated on the shower wall to tie the space together and give a sense of openness. A full-height glass wall shower partition allows full light transparency from the large picture window in the shower, while keeping water sprays contained. We removed a wing wall that once separated a seated vanity area from the sinks to create one large, open sink vanity. The custom dark stained maple finish and two Kohler semi-vessel sinks on the vanity gave the clients exactly what they needed – more elbow room & an exquisite contemporary look.
Custom-made mirrors match the vanity and are harmoniously balanced by a light colored and dramatic backsplash.
Our clients fell in love with the glass mosaic tiles from Oceanside Glass. The Caesarstone “Pebble” countertops provide the perfect accent to the overall scheme. And all the walls got lightened up with a soft-white & light French-gray paint combination. The new space has become bright and inviting as well as much more functional.
We also remodeled the closet space adjacent to the master bath. Before this closet was a dingy beige melamine that the clients didn’t care for, and although there were a lot of organizing shelves & compartments none of them actually suited the clients’ needs. Even though it was a walk-in closet it felt cramped and under-utilized. We diligently reviewed all the things to be hung, folded, stacked & stored in the new closet. We took our client’s needs to heart and designed the perfect custom closet for them.
This well organized space now allows access to their wardrobes easily, while keeping clutter at bay. The dark stained maple cabinets accented with chrome hardware coordinates perfectly with the new vanity in the bathroom. This closet transformed into a beautifully luxurious & highly functional space.
