Dream Home Remodel, Albany:

This ranch style home sits on breathtaking acreage that overlooks mint fields and horse pastures. Over the years the home had become disjointed with several, not so well thought out, additions. The new homeowners wanted to remodel the whole house to turn it into their dream home. They were hoping to make it more cohesive and functional for their lifestyle.

On the top of the homeowners' wish list was a larger master suite with a separate shower and jetted tub. To do this we combined the existing master suite with two small existing bedrooms. This gave the homeowners a much larger and more luxurious bathroom while leaving enough space in the master bedroom to have a cozy reading nook next to the see-through fireplace.

Before

Every home needs an inviting front entry. The existing home's facade was lacking a focal point. Now there is a gorgeous front door that catches your eye and leads you into a spacious entry where guests can shed coats and gather hugs.

Before

Right next to the entry we added a powder room. The serene wall color picks up the border in the tile floor nicely. White wainscoting adds a crisp detail.

To take advantage of the beautiful views out the back we removed a load bearing wall and opened up the family room to the new dining room. The round column that divides the dining room and kitchen hides the 8x8 post that supports the load bearing beams that run through the dining room and kitchen.

Dining Room Before

This dream kitchen is everything that the homeowners hoped for. It is large enough for several cooks, has an abundance of natural light and also features granite countertops, two concealed dishwashers, stainless steel appliances, enough space to store all sorts of kitchen gadgets and a roomy walk-in pantry.

Not all art should be hung from the wall. Eye-catching pendant lights and a custom built Sapele range hood add drama and character to this lovely kitchen.

If the kitchen is the heart of the home then this back entry is the brain of the home. This is the family's control center. It has drawers, baskets, hooks, and shelves to keep things organized. Bills, phone messages and a well used calendar will soon grace this area.
