The house was built in 1906 and has had a multitude of renovations over the years. While many would want to recreate a turn-of-the-century look, our clients wanted a completely contemporary Kitchen. Integrating this into the rest of the home, was our design challenge.
We copied the vintage architectural columns in the Living Room as supports for the new island, we re-used existing vintage doors & re-finished them to look new, and we used Marmoleum flooring throughout the new space to give a nod to the past.
In addition to a modern look, the clients wanted an efficient & easy to care for Kitchen. To this end, we designed a custom glass panel back splash {no grout!} using architectural glass, Caesarstone countertops {practically indestructible} and flat slab cabinet doors & drawers made out of maple {one of the hardest & most evenly patterned woods}.
We look forward to sharing professional photos of this gorgeous remodel very soon!
