The fireplace in the Dining Room of the 7th Street House also received a make-over in this remodel project. Previously a vintage overmantel cabinet was placed on a wood paneled wall. The styles & finishes did not match and the clients really did not like the tile hearth. However, they did like the overmantel cabinet, so we decided to design a new mantel surround to match this piece. We also used the same Caesarstone slab {Oyster} as for the Kitchen countertops for the new hearth to help tie these rooms together.
Santiam Cabinets {http://www.santiamcabinets.com/ } did a fantastic job matching the white oak wood & the old stain on the overmantel cabinet to the new mantel surround. We designed the new mantel to coordinate well with the existing cabinet as well as the other built-in pieces throughout the house. As you can see the Santiam crew are consummate craftsmen!
