This 1911 farmhouse on Independence Hwy in Albany has had two additions put on by its previous owners, but its new owners are ready for a complete remodel that will tie the look and feel of the home together to fit their lifestyle. In this whole house remodel, we will be transforming the current four bedroom, closed floor plan into a three bedroom home that will meet the needs of its owners for years to come. A new master suite will be added to one end of the house by combining three small bedrooms. The suite will include a new master bathroom and walk-in closet as well as a see-through fireplace that can be enjoyed from the bedroom and the soaking tub in the bathroom. The walls separating the kitchen and family room will be removed and the dining room will be relocated between them to create an open entertaining area. The kitchen will be updated with new granite slab countertops, appliances and custom painted cabinetry. By relocating some of the appliances a new work triangle will be created that works better with the new open floor plan. The current bonus room upstairs will be transformed into a private bedroom and attached bath for the owners’ daughter. New flooring, lighting, plumbing, wall coverings and custom cabinetry will be used throughout the house to complete this whole house update. Come along as we follow the Independence Hwy. remodel through construction on our Remodeling Blog. You will see what is happening through pictures and descriptions as we transform this old farmhouse into the home of the owners’ dreams.
