When my wife and business partner, Heidi, started the Powell Construction Remodeling Blog last year, the world of blogging was new to us. We’ve since come to realize that many people don’t know what a blog is. A blog (a contraction of the term “weblog”) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as photos or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. Topics can be broad, such as “gardening” or specific, such as “organic gardening.”
Our remodeling blog features different projects that we’re working on, providing an insider’s look at remodels from start to finish. The first project that we featured was a Cape Cod house on King’s Boulevard in Corvallis. It was the third addition we’d built on a neat older house and garage with lots of character. Many people had noticed the earlier projects and asked about them, so we thought it was a perfect house to cover in the blog.
Just recently we featured a house out on Independence Highway in North Albany. This was a whole house remodel of a 70’s ranch style house. As you follow the project along from beginning to end you’ll see quite a transformation.
There are lots of photos to look at and we’ve listed all the selections, so if you see a light fixture, refrigerator, or tile that you like, all the ordering information is there for you. We hope you find the blog informative and helpful. You can get to it by going to powellconstruction.com and clicking on “Remodeling Blog.”
