Here’s the newly framed roof with its new shingles. While the roof was going on we were getting ready on the interior for drywall and paint. On the first day of rough electrical our designer, lead carpenter, homeowners and electrician met and went through the entire project’s electrical plan. This is when the final locations are decided for all electrical. If any hidden ducts or floor joists are found to be in the way of where our plans show a switch or fixture should be, these issues are resolved at this time. Here is a shot of the dining room and upstairs bath after the start of rough electrical. In the upstairs bedroom the window opening has been framed as well as the desk nook. The existing multi-media hub was moved from the desk nook wall to inside the closet. The multi-media hub is a junction point for all data, phone, and TV in the house. Having this hub helps facilitate any changes which the homeowner might deem necessary in the future. Last but not least is the master bathroom. The tub will sit right underneath these windows. A large linen cabinet will go to the left of the tub and the vanity will stretch to the right. The tile has been selected and the design finalized. The custom cabinets and tile will give the master suite bathroom that elegant yet relaxing feel that the homeowners deserve. There have been a lot of people on the job lately. With the roofers, electricians and the Powell Construction crew Harvey has been in heaven. Here’s Harvey right after nosing his toy– a gentle reminder that he’s ready for you to throw it. Next week will be the beginning of insulation and drywall. The framing will be tested for moisture content and dried out if the moisture is too high. We will also walk through with the homeowners to discuss where blocking will be needed for flat screen televisions, heavy pieces of art and towel bars.
