In the kitchen we’re installing cabinetry and countertops this week. The photos below show the installed cabinets, without their doors. The painter will be in next week to paint the cabinets, and then the doors and base trim will be installed. In the photo below, the lower shelves you see inside the cabinets are pull out shelves. All of the lower cabinets are equipped with these to make storage easy to reach. A few other areas of note, the gap between cabinets in the second photo below is where the slide-in range will sit, and the very tall cabinet on the right of the same photo is the opening for the refrigerator. We’ll have a more in-depth look at the kitchen in coming weeks!
In the master suite the tile installer has been busy. His work will include the bathroom floor, the all tile shower and tub surround, and a fireplace hearth, as well as the backsplash in the kitchen. Outside the porch is moving right along. This week saw the installation of six recessed can lights, new roofing, the installation of the enclosed ceiling and the start of the construction of the steps. During the holidays we’re going to take a break in our postings to the blog, but that doesn’t mean progress isn’t happening. Appliance installation, final plumbing, final electrical and trim details are all happening soon!
