Custom Cabinetry

We are proud to support local businesses and reduce our carbon footprint by buying local. Our cabinets are built locally right here in the Mid-Willamette Valley. Our custom cabinets are far superior to those offered by most companies. And we’re not just saying that. No space is wasted in filling gaps with space fillers. We do not spray our cabinets with a lacquer, but rather, use a conversion varnish that is both water and chemical resistant. Other important features include dovetailed wood drawer boxes, wood shelf edges, and full extension soft close guides.

Their complementary talents, along with a shared passion for turning homeowners’ dreams into reality, have made Powell Construction the premier remodeler in Corvallis and the surrounding area.

Powell Construction is a family owned and operated business. Tom and Heidi met in Switzerland while backpacking through Europe as college students, and eventually married in 1989. He was from Corvallis and she was from the east coast, but that didn’t stop them. After saying their “I dos” they spent a year traveling in Southeast Asia and then returned to Tom’s home town, where Tom started Powell Construction. A family soon followed, a girl and then a boy. As Powell Construction grew, Heidi began managing the business side of things while Tom met with clients, assisted with design, and ran the construction crews. Today they continue to work together, remodeling and building new homes. Tom and Heidi’s two children, Jocelyn and Trent, both went on to graduate from OSU, just like their Dad.

Tom is a lifetime resident of Corvallis and has chosen to build and remodel homes because that’s what he loves to do. His background includes more than 40 years of construction experience, a degree in geoscience/ecology from Oregon State University, and a background in civil engineering.

Heidi manages the Powell Construction office and oversees all customer service. She enjoys the remodeling process and makes sure that our customers are well cared for every step of the way. Heidi has a degree in Business Administration from Boston University and over 35 years of business and remodeling experience.

After getting his master’s degree from Oregon State University, Tom and Heidi’s son Trent joined the family business. He had grown up learning the trade at the dinner table and working summers on the job sites. Trent applies his myriad talents and experience to his role as Project Coordinator. He is skilled in all phases of construction. Trent does the bulk of the estimating, builds the schedules, and does the day-to-day coordination of the field crew. He is fluent in both 2D and 3D design software and uses his structural experience to work with the designers in solving complicated scenarios. Organized and efficient, Trent is always working hard to ensure that projects come in on time and on budget.
