Fresh florals, soft pastels, and simple details to elevate your springtime gatherings.

Spring is the season of renewal, making it the perfect time to refresh your dining table with a lush tablescape that celebrates the beauty and colors of the season. Whether you’re hosting Easter brunch, a garden party, or just want to make a weeknight dinner feel special, a well-designed spring table can bring a touch of joy and invitation to your space. We thought we’d share our go-to approach for creating a stunning spring tablescape—built around three key elements: a thoughtful color scheme, seasonal florals, and beautifully styled place settings.
1. Finding Your Color Scheme
Think of your colors as the foundation. Spring calls for whimsical colorful tones – soft pastels, fresh greens, and pops of vibrant colors like reds, oranges, and yellows. We love to begin with an inspiration color that sets the tone, then build out the palette with complementary shades to create a cohesive and inviting look.
A few spring color combinations we love:
- Blush pink + soft green + ivory + light blue
- Poppy red + orange + periwinkle blue + green
- Pale yellow + dusty blue + natural wood tones

Pro tip: Keep your base (tablecloth, runner, or placemats) neutral to allow your accent colors and florals to really shine.
2. Choosing Your Flowers
Nothing says spring more than fresh blooms. This is your chance to bring life (literally!) to the table. Head to your local market (Trader’s Joes is our favorite!) or better yet your own backyard and look for seasonal beauties like tulips, ranunculus, blue bells, daffodils, hyacinths, or even flowering branches like cherry blossoms or quince.
When arranging, don’t feel like you need a massive centerpiece, small bud vases placed along the center of the table can feel just as impactful and more relaxed. Vary the heights and types of blooms for a garden-picked vibe.
For this exquisite display, we started with soft pink lilies as our focal flower, complemented by stock and pink spray roses as our secondary blooms. The arrangement was then filled with sprigs of eucalyptus and sea lavender, creating a truly enchanting composition. >>

If you’re new to arranging flowers, try some of these designer tips:
- Choose your vessel – Shorter-stemmed flowers like ranunculus are best displayed in smaller vases. For a more dramatic display, we love using a tall, wide-mouth urn-style vase to create a flowing, organic arrangement.
- Add structure – If needed, incorporate floral wire or a flower frog inside the vase to help support your stems.
- Begin with large focal flowers – Think lilies, roses, lilacs – so gorgeous!
- Add secondary flowers – To enhance the focal blooms, incorporate scabiosa, stock, and spray roses for extra color and visual appeal.
- Incorporate greenery – We use eucalyptus varieties or seasonal branches to bring texture and depth to an arrangement.
- Finish with fillers – The whispers of color – like lavender, delphinium, snapdragon, statice are a soft finishing touch!
- Voila!

3. Styling Your Place Settings
This is where function meets beauty. Start with a woven placemat or charger to create a grounding base. Then add the essentials —plates, flatware, and glassware. Feel free to layer by stacking a bowl or teacup on top of the dinner plate. Finally, finish with a linen element – a cloth napkin ties the whole look together.

Consider adding a personal touch:
- Tie your napkins with twine and tuck in a sprig of greenery or a dried flower
- Use handwritten name tags for a personal touch
- Mix in fun patterns for a layered effect
- If you’re feeling fancy, you can even layer salad and dinner plates in complementary patterns or shades to add depth and interest to the setting.

Whether you’re going all out or keeping it simple, a spring tablescape is a beautiful way to celebrate the season and gather with intention. Happy spring hosting!
