Primary Suite Retreat and Back Entry Addition
— CORVALLIS, OR —
For this busy Corvallis family who used their back door as their primary entrance, we designed a back entry addition with plenty of built-in storage to reduce clutter. The project also enlarged their master suite, creating a comfortable private retreat.
An existing patio roof was incorporated into the design to enlarge an existing bedroom and add a private bathroom. The renovated master suite has an expanded bedroom, an enlarged master bath, and a walk-in closet with a built-in ironing board. There is also a separate powder room for visitors.
The dining room was expanded to accommodate frequent guests, and in the summer the homeowners can enjoy their patio in the shade of their new pergola.
The back door, used as the primary entrance, was moved to allow more space for greeting guests. Built-ins, complete with shoe cubbies, a seat, and coat hooks, minimize clutter and make visitors feel right at home. An agate bordered tile floor is a practical and beautiful choice for the entry.
A luxurious shower includes a Travertine seat, recessed niches, an adjustable handheld shower sprayer, and a beautiful inlaid tile mural. Special features in the bathroom include a heated floor and a convenient outlet in the vanity drawer to keep the hairdryer out of sight.
