Light, Bright Primary Bath and Closet

The remodel converted three small, dark rooms into two light-filled spaces. A built-in tub area was converted into a large shower, while square footage taken up by an existing shower cubicle was incorporated into much-needed closet space. Forgoing a separate tub for a larger shower is not uncommon in our renovations of primary bathrooms, especially when it isn’t the only tub in the home.

Every aspect of the remodel was carefully considered and detailed, lending the whole a refined air of quality and calm. The vanity features PentalQuartz “Crystal White” countertops and splashes with rectangular undermount ceramic sinks. The polished chrome faucets from Restoration Hardware have a rectangular base, echoing the shape of the sinks. The vanity combines open towel storage with enclosed drawers and cabinets, providing ample personal storage for each partner. The new custom closet features plenty of built-in storage and specifically designed hangers for slacks and shirts. Open shelving helps keep items visible and organized.

The color palette is mostly white and off-whites, creating an ambience that is fresh, bright, and clean. The walls are painted in Benjamin Moore’s “Edgecomb Gray,” and the cabinets and ceilings are painted in Benjamin Moore’s “Chantilly Lace.” The bathroom floor is from Walker Zanger’s Shift Collection. It is the Stripe Mosaic in White. The white 3×12 tiles on the shower walls and ceiling are from Settecento’s New Yorker collection, and the textured white 1×1 Mosaic tiles on the shower floor are from Walker Zanger’s Shift collection. Together, the all-white tiles create an ambience that’s bright and harmonious.

Well-designed spaces and custom cabinetry combined with high-end bathroom fixtures and finishes evoke the feeling of a spa-like retreat. It’s the elegance of a hotel with all the comforts of home!
