Log Home Basement Retreat
— CORVALLIS, OR —
This 1,200-square-foot basement in a beautiful log home was remodeled for work, play, and hosting out-of-town guests. The stone fireplace surround takes center stage with a parent and child desk on either side. Notice the desk on the right has a bespoke slide-out work surface for big projects that can be neatly tucked away most of the time. The wood paneling picks up on the rustic feel of the log home, while the bright yellow paint and extensive lighting give the space an airy feel.
More about this project
A Heat and Glo gas fireplace in Martini bronze finish, a wall-mounted television above the fireplace, sconces from Besa Lighting in Amber cloud, and Arcade bamboo flooring in mocha help to create a warm and inviting space.
A beautiful sliding barn door is hung using a classic flat track hardware kit from Real Siding Hardware. The 8” pulls are from Rustica Hardware. The lovely stained bamboo flooring is from Arcade and is called “Mocha.”
Extensive built-ins provide bar space for adults, while also storing books and games for youngsters. The coffered ceiling adds interest and height to the room.
