Organic Contemporary Kitchen Remodel

Through the years, we have found that many of our customers are seeking to improve areas of their home to reflect what is most meaningful to them. These may be spaces for enjoying a favorite activity or quiet places they can retreat to for a little relaxation. This dynamic couple was joining their lives to create a home that both of them love. He pictured baking bread in a state-of-the-art oven and preparing delicious meals to share while she relished the idea of holding book groups by the fire on the back porch and looking out over the lovely yard and garden. Our goal was to design a home remodel that would represent both of their styles and interests.

The cooking enthusiast of the pair craved a kitchen that was exceptionally functional and visually appealing! This kitchen remodel was just the ticket! Although we did not add square footage to the home for the kitchen, we were able to enlarge it by eliminating an adjacent hallway. In that newly acquired space, we installed glass-front, birch built-ins which provide generous room for storage and display. This kitchen abounds with innovative cabinet design features that maximize space and increase utility. Among those are a spice pullout, pet feeding station, and trash/recycle pullout. The customers also selected two large appliance lifts that do the heavy lifting for them and allow their gadgets to remain plugged in while stowed. The centerpiece of this kitchen is the 48-inch gas range; it pulls out all the stops, featuring 8 burners, 2 ovens and a griddle! Visually speaking, the bold granite countertops and vivid blue lower cabinets are balanced by the soft wood tones of the remaining cabinetry…a striking combination!
An equally important aspect of this project was creating spaces for respite and relishing the outdoors. A stunning bathroom remodel and porch addition were the perfect places for that! In the bathroom, the homeowners were looking for a light, open, airy atmosphere. To achieve the look, we installed a solar tube and large format white shower tile. The unique stone tiling of the floor and shower niche convey a tasteful outdoorsy impression.
And speaking of nature…as the final flourish to this project, our carpenters built a beautiful screened-porch where these clients can now entertain OR savor solitude year-round! A fir paneled ceiling, electric stove, Trex flooring, and party lights strung around the perimeter contribute to the lovely rustic ambience. On a warm summer night in Oregon it is the perfect place to curl up with a good book.
