Cape Cod Garage Addition

This garage and shop, styled to look like a Cape Cod cottage, was remodeled for one of our many repeat customers. (Please see “Additions to Historic Cape Cod” and “Cape Cod Addition” for details of other projects.) Solid wood exterior doors, divided light wood windows, and Alaskan yellow cedar shingles were used to authentically replicate the Cape Cod style. It was considered ostentatious in its day to side a whole house in white clapboard, so in keeping with this, a portion is covered in Alaskan yellow cedar shingles, which in time will turn a weathered gray.
